Mei Meng and Wang Jiwu Attend Inaugural Meeting of Nantong Industrial Technology Research Institute Print

The inaugural meeting of Nantong Industrial Technology Research Institute (“Research Institute” for short) was held in Nantong Municipal Administrative Center, Jiangsu on September 30, 2013. At the meeting, Zhang Guohua, Vice Secretary of Nantong Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Nantong City and Xu Jinghong, Chairman of Tsinghua Holdings Co., Ltd., jointly unveiled the Research Institute. Mei Meng, Chairman of Tus-Holdings Co., Ltd. accepted the appointment as dean of Nantong Industrial Technology Research Institute, and spoke at the meeting. Wang Jiwu, President of Tus-Holdings Co., Ltd. delivered a speech at the meeting.

 

Nantong Industrial Technology Research Institute, initiated by Nantong Municipal People's Government, will be managed in the operational model of integrating “research institution, science park and industrial base” into one. It is a comprehensive industrial technology research institute built by Nantong City for commercialized operation, a major act for the improvement of the regional innovation system and construction of the national innovative pilot city as well as an important starting point for the cooperation between Nantong City and Tsinghua industry and promotion of the development of strategic emerging industries through close combination of technology, industry and talents.

The core area of Nantong Industrial Technology Research Institute covers an area of 249mu, and its floor area for R & D and incubation totals 350,000m2. The Research Institute, taking “Enhance the technological innovation capability and industrial core competitiveness” as its mission, has been formed based on Nantong Science Park. It aims to achieve seven goals within three years, that is, completion of 350,000m2 R & D and incubation area, introduction of 10 major research organizations and 10 R & D institutions of enterprises, construction of 10 public technical service platforms, introduction of 10 angel investment and venture capital institutions, introduction and training of 10 experts according to the national “Recruitment Program of Global Experts” and 50 innovation and entrepreneurship teams, promotion of the listing of three or more technology companies, and realization of 500 new projects with independent intellectual property rights. In the future, the Research Institute will be built into a leading innovation-driven core carrier and demonstration platform in Nantong.

Nantong Chuangyuan Science Park, jointly invested in by Tus-Holdings Co., Ltd., is located at the core area of the Research Institute. As an important part of the “three-in-one” innovation system, Nantong Chuangyuan Science Park, together with the state-level Nantong High-tech Pioneering Center, Nantong University Science Park and other industrial bases, will effectively undertake the transfer and transformation of the scientific and technological achievements of the Research Institute, provide high-level business incubation and innovation services, to create a high-quality innovative and entrepreneurial atmosphere.
