The Development Seminar of Asia-Pacific Science Park sponsored by United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Worldwide Technology Association (WTA), International Cooperation Committee of Republic of Korea was held in Jakarta, capital of Indonesia on September 3. 43 delegates from Cambodia, China, India, Iran, Republic of Korea Laos, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Maldives, Thailand, Uzbekistan, Malaysia, Japan, East Timor, Bhutan and Indonesia etc. participated in the seminar.
Chen Hongbo was invited as both the vice president of Tuspark Co., Ltd. and the chairman of Asia-Pacific Session of International Science Park Association to the seminar. He delivered the speech “TsingHua Science Park (Tuspark): The Model of Five-Aspects Winning of Chinese Commercial Science Park”. The great achievements made by Tsing-Hua Science Park deeply impressed all of the delegates.
The purpose of the seminar is to update and improve the awareness and management on the science park of the managers in Asia-Pacific countries, set up and enhance the regional network of Asia-Pacific science parks to achieve the goal of mutual communication and development, by presentation and exchange of experience of the participants. According to the overall situation reflected in the meeting, the science parks in of Republic Korea, Japan, India etc. are growing steadily. The development and construction of Science Parks sponsored by governments and the Technopolis including the high-tech manufacturing industry as well as the Science City will generate great impact on the development of regional economy.
