IASP awarded President Mei Meng “Outstanding Leadership for TusPark Development Prize” Print

On August 28th, on the opening ceremony of the 6th Tus-Holdings Innovation Forum and the 2nd Leaders of Global Science Parks Roundtable Meeting, the Director of TusPark Development Center and the President of Tus-Holdings Mei Meng was awarded “Outstanding Leadership for TusPark Development Prize” by IASP so as to honor the outstanding contributions Director Mei Meng has made to the internationalization of TusPark and promoting the development of China science park.  

 

During the President of IASP Rick Weddle’s speech of offering the award, he said: “Dr. Mei Meng has made a great contribution to the development of our science park career. I’d like to award such an important prize to you on behalf of IASP for the outstanding contributions you have made to the development of the industry. In the past years, you have not only focused on promoting the development of China science parks but also, as the science park leader, established China’s first and world first-class university science park. We’d like to appreciate you again for your efforts and contributions!”

Subsequently, President Mei Meng gave the acceptance speech: “I thank friends at home and abroad for supporting us, also I want to thank more to our team and our common efforts. Time flies, 20 years has slipped away. I devoted all my all life from 40-year-old to 60-year-old to TusPark. This These 20 years for me is extremely important and valuable in life. At the beginning when TusPark was established, and President Wang Dazhong himself as was the Director of TusPark Planning and Construction Committee, he asked us to build TusPark to a world-class science park before developing Tsinghua University to a world-class university, which has become our dream. At that time, you could look everywhere in the world, there are were a number of senior specialists, important persons and industry models in the world science park. And now I’m so excited that almost all the models in our mind then have come to this venue. 20 years ago, we looked up at them, we observed them, we could not copy any successful experience of theirs, and we could only pursue our own way. After 20 years’ efforts, we use take innovative ways to build up innovative platforms and innovative networks, and use apply the startup model to make entrepreneurial business service and entrepreneurial education. We have achieved our dream step by step. And finally one day, President Chen Jining brought us a good news that a world famous science park spoke highly of us. He told us twice that the praises respectively from a world-known entrepreneur and a highly respected academic scholar, were both the encouragement and recognition to TusPark and also the recognition to the efforts of TusPark creators generation by generation.

20 years ago, we took encouraging innovation and supporting entrepreneurship as our own duty and hoped to cultivate world-class enterprises and entrepreneurs, then during these 20 years, we have created a brand new industry in China – science and technology service industry. When engaged in this industry, we even did not know the industry we worked in was called science and technology service industry. So today, when the country is vigorously promoting science and technology service industry, we've already been working hard on it for more than 10 years. Today's Tus-Holdings Co., Ltd. is a model enterprise for the country’s science and technology service industry. And on the same day of 20 years later, our responsibility is to realize setting the example and being the leader in the science and technology service industry. This is our new dream. We have realized our old dream, and will continue to realize the new one. The dream is unlimited, thank you all!

This is the first time that the “Outstanding Leadership for TusPark Development Prize” has ever been awarded to an individual person worldwide since IASP was founded. On the occasion of TusPark’s 20th anniversary, IASP awarded President Mei Meng “Outstanding Leadership for TusPark Development Prize” to show the efforts and contributions President Mei Meng has made to the development of science park industry and the recognition from the global peers as well as a recognition on the internationalization development of TusPark.
