Strengthen cooperation via Qinghua Kunshan Week, and build the dream of technological innovation. On December 11-13, 2014, “Tsinghua Kunshan Week” serial activities, jointly organized by Tsinghua University, Kunshan Municipal Government and Tus-Holdings Co., Ltd., were held in Beijing. Content-rich study tours, honest exchanges and cooperation, sincere promotion and invitation, passionate entrepreneurship competition and conclusion of fruitful project contracts marked that the cooperation between TusHoldings and Kunshan City had entered a new stage.
Achieve a higher level of mutual trust, and take a big step toward cooperation – TusHoldings and Kunshan Government signed a strategic cooperation agreement. On the morning of December 12, Qiu Yong (deputy secretary of the party committee and vice president of Tsinghua University and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences), Guan Aiguo (party committee secretary of Kunshan City), Wang Jiwu (President of TusHoldings), Li Zhiqiang (party committee secretary of TusHoldings and director of TusPark Administrative Committee) and other leaders witnessed that Vice President Hu Bo on behalf of TusHoldings signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement with Kunshan Finance Office and Kunshan Venture Control Group respectively. According to the spirit of the agreement, TusHoldings will cooperate with Kunshan Municipal Government in building the “Technological, Financial and Innovation Cooperation Demonstration Zone”, so as to build Kunshan high-tech zone into the core area of Southern Jiangsu National Innovation Demonstration Zone, and provide strong support for municipal, industrial and talent transformation and development of Kunshan city.
Creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship and wealth creation – The finals of the 16th “Kunshan Cup” Tsinghua University Entrepreneurship Contest were successfully held. On the morning of December 13, the finals of the 16th “Kunshan Cup” Tsinghua University Entrepreneurship Competition & the finals of 2014 Tsinghua University Alumni Entrepreneurship Contest, sponsored by the Communist Youth League Committee of Tsinghua University and Tsinghua Alumni Association and jointly organized by Kunshan Municipal Government and TusStar, were held at the TusPark International Conference Centre. Shi Zongkai (deputy party secretary of Tsinghua University), Yang Jun (minister of Kunshan Municipal Party Committee Organization Department), Hu Bo (vice president of Tus-Holdings) and other leaders participated in the activity. The entrepreneurship competition included ten projects, which were presented in turn in the form of roadshow, including 3D printing equipment, Internet banking equipment and wearable devices. Based on the experts’ review and scoring, three projects Oudemeng, Taoqibao and Xiaojiangyou won the gold, silver and bronze awards respectively.
TusHoldings incubation network, lending a helping hand for Tsinghua students’ entrepreneurship dream – The enterprises incubated by TusStar incubator and Tsinghua students’ entrepreneurship projects settled in TusPark (Kunshan). On the morning of December 12, Kunshan economic and social development seminar was held in TusPark Sunshine Hall. More than 200 Tsinghua students participated in the seminar to gain an understanding of Kunshan, hoping that their innovation and entrepreneurship dream would turn into reality in Kunshan. Li Xiaozhong, deputy general manager of TusPark(Kunshan) signed a contract with Tenggle Technologies (Beijing) Co., Ltd. (which was on behalf of the enterprises incubated by TusStar) and Zhanqing Environmental Entrepreneurship Project (which was on behalf of Tsinghua students’ entrepreneurial teams) respectively for their settlement in TusPark(Kunshan).
TusPark(Kunshan), as an important achievement of cooperation between Tsinghua University and Kunshan City, has made remarkable achievements since 2003 with the concern and support of Kunshan Municipal Government. So far, it has formed a “1 + 2 area network” development layout, that is, “1” science park directly drives “2” characteristic industrial bases covering a total area of more than 2,000 mu - biomedical industry base and high-end equipment manufacturing industry base.
