The Seventh Tus Innovation Forum Closed in FuzhouPrint

Along with the Chinese economic development in the new normal condition, the driving value of innovation becomes more and more significant, and it has become the common view of the governments of both sides across the Straits to encourage youth to start up business. Meanwhile, how should incubators, which take core incubation missions in the eco-system of innovation and entrepreneurship, innovate itself to open wider growth space for young entrepreneurs? On September 25 to 26, 2015, the seventh Tus Innovation Forum themed by “Youth Venture & New Incubation” was held in Fuzhou, bringing the strongest storm of innovation and entrepreneurship in this year for this city. Representatives of all circles of both sides across the Straits, including local governments, new type incubators, science parks, hi-tech enterprises, innovation service institutions, investment institutions, and so on, performed multi-perspective and deep discussion in the forms of issuance of authoritative research reports, cross-field dialogue, on-site road show, and so on. The seventh Tus Innovation Forum was supported by International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP) and jointly organized by the Management Committee of Fuzhou New High-tech Zone, Enterprise Cooperation Committee of Tsinghua University and TusPark Research Institute for Innovation of Tsinghua University. This is the first session of this Forum held in Southeast China. To meet the tide of the times of “mass entrepreneurship and innovation”, this session of the Forum is themed by “Youth Venture & New Incubator”, and provides the participants with a sumptuous banquet of innovation thoughts through three research reports (respectively Appraisal and Study Report on the Urban Innovation and Entrepreneurship Environment in China in 2015, Opportunities and Challenges for Urban Innovation Development under the Background of Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and Study Report on the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Environment of County-level Cities in China), two cross-field dialogues (respectively “Education Reform in the Age of ‘Internet+’” and “Cross Strait Young Entrepreneurs Dialogue on New Incubators”) and a project road show (Annual Demo Day of TusStar Entrepreneurship Camp 2015) in addition to the general meeting.

The ranking list of innovation and entrepreneurship environment of cities in China 2014 was released.
According to the tradition, the ranking list of innovation and entrepreneurship environment of cities in China, an authoritative annual ranking list on local soft environment of innovation and entrepreneurship appraised by TusPark Research Institute for Innovation of Tsinghua University is released at each session of the Forum. At the opening ceremony of this session of the Forum, the ranking list 2014 was released, in which Shenzhen ranked No. 1 consecutively with a result consisting of No. 1 in three of the totally eight single indicators, followed respectively by Guangzhou, Chengdu, Nanjing, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Xi’an, Wuhan, Zhengzhou and Qingdao.

Industrial experts discuss about the education reform in the age of “Internet+”
Qu Zhenyuan, a member of the tenth national committee of CPPCC and chairman of China Association of Higher Education, is giving a themed lecture in the first dialogue of the Forum.
At the forum, the preparation release ceremony of Nanjing Tus Kylin International College and the opening ceremony of Tus Science and Education Incubator were held too. According to introduction, Tus Science and Education Incubators were respectively set in Beijing, Kunming, Hangzhou and Zhengzhou by Tus-Education together with Beijing Jinyu Group, Kunming New High-tech Zone, Eastcom Group and other institutions. After establishment of these incubators, Tus-Education will be dedicated to incubation of science and education enterprises together with all social circles.
Cross Strait Young Entrepreneurs Dialogue on New Incubators
The annual TusStar Entrepreneurship Camp is the best arena for entrepreneurship teams all over the country. The TusStar Entrepreneurship Camp 2015 was started in April in 11 cities such as Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin, and has attracted nearly 2,000 entrepreneurship teams. After hundreds of trainings and road shows attracting the attention of nearly 1,000 investors, finally 22 entrepreneurship projects involving smart hardware, new materials, energy saving and environmental protection, high-end manufacture, online education, and so on, stood out and participated in the road show of Annual Demo Day of TusStar Entrepreneurship Camp, and received wonderful comments of senior investors from major investment institutes in China. At last, 10 TusStar enterprises were selected on the site of the road show, which would be provided with such supports as seed investment, attention of scores of billion venture fund, linking with Top 500 enterprises and entrepreneurship fund from 50 new High-tech Zones.
Fuzhou and TusHoldings are jointly building an emerging comprehensive science park
It is worthy of attention that, after closing of this Forum, TusHoldings invited all the participants to Fuzhou Haixi New Hi-tech Industrial Park to witness the foundation laying ceremony of TusCity Fuzhou Project. According to plan, this project will have a total coverage of about 2,300mu, a total building area of nearly 2,500,000m2, and a total investment of about RMB 17 billion. As a carrier of the comprehensive cooperation between Tsinghua University and the two levels of government of Fujian Province and Fuzhou City, TusCity Fuzhou will have full-chain science and technology service functions such as local technological innovation, industrialization of scientific and technological fruits, high-tech financial services, and investment into startups. As the undertaker of this project, TusHoldings will combine its rich experience in establishment and nearly 20 years of operation and management of TusPark with the local economic development needs of Fuzhou, actively explore and establish brand new technological innovation service mode, build an emerging comprehensive science park near Taiwan Straits that gathers high-end industries and talents and integrates innovation, entrepreneurship, working, living and leisure functions, and actively promote the technological innovation and economic transformation and upgrading of this area.
