On June 18, accompanied by such leaders as Du Deyin (director of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of Beijing), a delegation of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of Tianjin led by Xiao Huaiyuan (director of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of Tianjin) visited TusHoldings in TusPark for Investigation. Chen Xu (Party secretary of Tsinghua University), Cheng Jianping (executive vice president of Tsinghua University), Nie Fenghua (deputy secretary general of Tsinghua University and deputy director of Online Education Research Center of Ministry of Education), Xiong Yizhi (director of President Office of Tsinghua University), Mei Meng (director of TusPark Development Center and board chairman of TusHoldings), and Wang Jiwu (president of TusHoldings) received the delegation. Cui Shuqiang (Party secretary of Haidian District, Beijing), Yu Jun (deputy Party secretary and acting district chief of Haidian District), and Liao Guohua (deputy director of the Management Committee of Zhongguancun) accompanied the delegation during the investigation.

In an exhibition hall of TusPark, Du Deyin, Xiao Huaiyuan and the accompaniers listened to the report of Chen Hongbo (executive vice president of TusHoldings) on the development course and status quo of TusPark. 

At the symposium held later, Cheng Jianping, executive vice president of Tsinghua University, welcomed the delegation and introduced in detail the exploration and efforts of Tsinghua University in the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. He said that Tsinghua University had built a set of characteristic technological innovation system and had established an advanced equipment research institute and a general electronics research institute in cooperation with Tianjin. He also expressed the wish to make contribution to the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei by virtue of the academic advantages of Tsinghua University and the rich experience of TusHoldings in development, construction, operation and management of Science Park. The symposium was chaired by Mei Meng, board chairman of TusHoldings. 

After that, Wang Jiwu, present of TusHoldings, made a report on three aspects, respectively development achievements in the past, future development plan and the layout of the cooperation among Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. “TusHoldings invested and built the first Class A science park in China, and developed the largest technological innovation system in the world. It is also the investor and operator of the largest incubator in Hong Kong,” Wang Jiwu said. He demonstrated with detailed data the achievements of TusHoldings in these years, and emphasized that TusHoldings, as an important enterprise of Tsinghua University, would keep exploring in such aspects as “cluster-type innovation”, “three-wheel driving” and “financial incubation”, strengthen soft power building, expand the layout of soft services, and offer training courses on innovation and business startup to the potential participants in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei relying on Tus Business School. He said that TusHoldings had initiated the development in the industry of environment protection and new energy in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. 

Nie Fenghua, deputy secretary general of Tsinghua University and deputy director of Online Education Research Center of Ministry of Education, is giving a speech.

 “We are actively exploring the development mode of ‘Internet +’, and XuetangX has attracted users in 117 countries and regions and developed 432 online courses,” Nie Fenghua (deputy secretary general of Tsinghua University and deputy director of Online Education Research Center of Ministry of Education) said. He reported the development and advantages of XuetangX online education platform with the theme of “one body with two wings, and integration of industry and finance”. He pointed out that XuetangX would gather global resources, lead education innovation, provide services for worldwide learners, and build a golden age of learning.

At the symposium, Xiao Huaiyuan, director of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of Tianjin, first expressed appreciation for the reception of TusHoldings, and then commended the achievements and development modes of TusHoldings in business incubation and science park building and running. He said: “As an important city in North China, Tianjin can provide a good platform for the students of Tsinghua University. We welcome more entrepreneurship teams to settle in Tianjin, and the government will provide supports and assistances.” Du Deyin, director of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of Beijing, asked in detail the business mode of TusHoldings in the field of scientific and technological services, and discussed and communicated with Mei Meng (board chairman of TusHoldings) and Wang Jiwu (president of TusHoldings) on the future development direction. 

After the meeting, the delegation successively visited TusStar Mass-Innovation Space and TusCity Exhibition Center. Zhang Jinsheng, vice president of TusHoldings, made an on-site report on the construction and operation of Mass-Innovation Space and the incubation services for small and micro enterprises. Du Peng, vice president of TusHoldings, made an on-site report on development and operation of TusCity and the development of TusHoldings in environment protection industry.
