A Top Management Dialog between Honeywell and TusHoldingsPrint

On the afternoon of Mar. 14, a global and Asia-Pacific top management delegation of Honeywell led by Mr. Alex Ismail, Global President and CEO of Honeywell Automatic Control System Group, visited TusHoldings and conducted preliminary exchange with a TusHoldings team in industry led by Mr. Wang Jiwu, President of TusHoldings, concerning the potential future cooperation in such fields as energy saving and environmental protection.  

As a Fortune Top 100 enterprise, Honeywell is engaged in aviation products and services, building, household and industrial control technologies, turbochargers and special materials in the world. In China, a series of innovative technology and smart solution of Honeywell Automatic Control System Group have been widely used in the fields of energy, building, traffic, medicine, household products, and so on. This Group successfully implemented the first smart grid demand response project in China together with Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area (TEDA). The purpose of the visit of the delegation led by Mr. Alex Ismail is to deeply know the advantageous strengths and cooperation needs of TusHoldings in scientific and technological services, energy saving and environmental protection and other fields and thus to further explore the cooperation opportunities between the two parties and jointly make contribution to the energy saving and environmental protection undertakings in China. 
 

In the exhibition center located on the second floor of Technology Building, Chen Hongbo, Executive Vice President of TusHoldings, firstly introduced to the visitors the development history of TusPark and TusHoldings and their global scientific and technological service network. Then, representatives of the scientific and technological companies subordinate to TusHoldings, including Tus-sound, Tsing Yun Energy Technology, Nationsky, Tsinghua Solar, Yadu Environmental Protection, Tus Water, Jiangsu Daoyuan, and Unisplendour Guhan, respectively showed their advanced and innovative technologies and products to the delegation of Honeywell and introduced the application promotion conditions of their technologies and products. It was especially expressive for the visitors that remote data and information on relevant projects of Tus-sound, Tsing Yun Energy Technology, Smartbow and Nationsky could be viewed and controlled on a real-time basis via a big touch screen, so that data collection, analysis and control could be performed on the site of the exhibition hall. Later, the delegation visited TusStar, where they listened to the successful experiences in its high-tech business incubation and watched some simulated roadshows.

After the preliminary exchange during visiting, the top management delegations of Honeywell and TusHoldings sat together to have a face-to-face dialog. As an enterprise with 130 years of innovation history, Honeywell always deems technological innovation as its lifeblood, while TusHoldings’ history of successful incubation of many innovative and leading enterprises can embody its philosophy of “taking technological innovation as the core”. After giving favorable comments, Mr. Alex Ismail expressed their intention to know more about TusHoldings’ cooperation with large-scale enterprises or institutions. Then, President Wang Jiwu introduced TusHoldings’ huge cooperation network in China and even the whole world from three aspects, that is various levels of governments, high-tech enterprises and financial institutions. He also emphasized that TusHoldings had the spirit of contract rooted in Tsinghua University’s culture and would be a very reliable partner. 
 

At present, Honeywell has over 19,000 engineers and scientists in the world, and about 50% of its products and solutions can bring energy saving benefits for customers. This and the richest assets of TusHoldings in the environmental protection field in China can supplement each other. The core advantage of Honeywell is to invent innovative technologies, while the core advantage of TusHoldings is to promote commercialization of innovative technologies. TusHoldings once built a technical lab into the ten billion level Tsing Yun Energy Technology company in one year only, which is a good example of TusHoldings strength. 


Mr. Wang Shugui, Vice President of TusHoldings and General Manager of Tus Science and Technology Service Group, expressed that, although the environmental protection enterprises subordinate to TusHoldings had accumulated rich experience in air and sewage treatment, China was still in an urgent need for technical supports from innovation giants such as Honeywell due to the complex pollution causes and very high difficulty in treatment. Mr. Wen Hui, President of Tsinghua Solar and deputy Board Chairman of Yadu Company, also said that many local governments were seeking for an effective way for fog and haze treatment, the energy waste rate as high as 40% in Chinese buildings should be lowered quickly, and there was great potential in the energy saving and environmental protection industry in China, and expressed the intention to work with Honeywell for a brighter future.

Mr. Alex Ismail and Mr. Li Ning, President of Greater China Division of Honeywell Automatic Control System Group, made positive response to the speeches of TusHoldings’ representatives: Honeywell’s core business in China consisted of three parts, that is household, building and industrial control technologies; Due to a lack for effective communication and interaction between technical development teams and the market demands, a few innovative technologies were wasted; They wished to greatly improve Honeywell’s innovation application value in China by virtue of the powerful commercialization strength of TusHoldings and jointly make contribution to environmental improvement in China.

After the main opinions of both parties were presented, the communication and exchange became hot quickly, and the previously used Chinese-English interpretation based communication was soon replaced by synchronous communication in Chinese and English. Mr. Zhao Dong, Vice President of TusHoldings, gave an example using the digital industry-city complex built by TusHoldings, which had attracted participation of many top grade IT companies, and suggested that the two parties should make the best of the development opportunities in the transformation and upgrading of Chinese economy and jointly create a good prospect in the field of urban and industrial digitalization upgrading. An Hongping, Vice President of TusHoldings and Board Chairman of TusPark Operation and Management Company suggested that a technical incubation accelerator and a foundation could be jointly established by Honeywell and TusHoldings to promote the commercialization of Honeywell’s innovative technologies. It was a bit pity that the 1-hour duration of the meeting was not enough at all for full communication. However, the two parties agreed to meet again soon to discuss about more details of the cooperation.

I wish to hear good news about Honeywell and TusHoldings’ cooperation projects as soon as possible.”
