Wang Jiwu Addresses at SLUSH UPPrint

On May 12, 2016, distinguished venture capital investors from China or North Europe gathered at SLUSH UP, which was held in TusPark (Beijing). Wang Jiwu (board chairman of TusHoldings), Jari Gustafsson (vice minister of Ministry of Employment and the Economy of Finland), Jussi Pajunen (mayor of Helsinki City) and Peter Vesterbacka (founder of Rovio - developer of Angry Birds) participated in this event and made speeches.

Jari Gustafsson (vice minister of Ministry of Employment and the Economy of Finland), Jussi Pajunen (mayor of Helsinki City) and Peter Vesterbacka (founder of Rovio - developer of Angry Birds) are making themed speeches in turn. 

In his speech, board chairman Wang Jiwu praised Finland’s leading position in innovation, and introduced the layout of TusHoldings’ international business in Finland. According to him, SLUSH UP, as the third cooperation between TusHoldings and Slush, will result in the two parties’ futher joint efforts on facilitating communication and cooperation between startups, high-tech talents, top investors, senior managers of enterprises and media in the two countries in advantage of their innovation services, so as to build a high-quality innovation ecosystem.

This SLUSH UP was jointly hosted by Slush and TusHoldings, and undertaken by TusStar, Finland Trade Association and Helsinki municipal government, aiming to build a platform for entrepreneurs to enter the core of Sino-Europe venture circle. This summit consisted of such modules as themed lecture, quick linking of entrepreneurs and investors, information sharing lecture on investment opportunities and strategies and post-event party, and focused on six major entrepreneurship fields, including science & technology, health, smart travel, games & entertainment, software and big data analysis. Roadshow winners are qualified to participate in the final of Slush China to be held in October this year, to attend the entrepreneurship trainings given by senior venture capital investors from China or Europe, and to have the opportunity to receive international investment.

As the country with the highest proportion of innovation related incomes among all North European countries, Finland has a whole set of national innovation system with very good entrepreneurship atmosphere and great support from the government. Slush is an attractive annual international innovation and entrepreneurship event. Since its first session held in Helsinki (Finland) in 2008, Slush has become a world-famous venture event of the largest scale and the highest specification in similar events in Europe after 8 years of development. In 2014, Slush Finland attracted the attention of 250 million people from all over the world, and representatives of leading enterprises in China, such as Alibaba, Tencent and Baidu, attended and made themed speeches at that meeting.  

In 2015, Slush successfully held Slush China together with TusPark and Zhongguancun Software Park. In addition to SLUSH UP, Slush will organize jointly with TusHoldings more international venture events of Chinese characteristics in China this year, including Slush China in Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center on October 31, 2016. 

Wu Hong (vice president of Legend Capital), Wang Guodong (vice president of Gobi Partners) and Liu Xueliang (deputy general manager of TusStar) participated in the themed talk of this Summit. SLUSH UP also received supports from such organizations and institutions as “Hello Helsinki” Project Team, Finland Trade Association, Investment Finland, Helsinki Municipal Government, Sino-Finish Innovation Center, Finland Greater Helsinki Business Promotion Conference, SPD Bank, Yijian Video, Sohu Technology and Tsinghua H-Lab.
