TusHoldings and UNSW in Australia Signed a Cooperation Agreement Print

On November 7, 2016, TusHoldings and the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Australia formally signed a cooperation agreement on feasibility study and strategic planning for New South Wales Torch Park. The two parties have kept close communication since a delegation of UNSW visited TusHoldings last year. They signed an MOU on strategic cooperation on April 12, 2016. The signing of this cooperation agreement indicates a further step in the comprehensive cooperation between TusHoldings and UNSW. 

Tus Research Institute for Innovation will take the task of the feasibility study and strategic planning for New South Wales Torch Park. This Institute will follow the trend of global technological innovation and industrial development, rely on the over 20 years of experience of TusHoldings in planning, design, construction, operation and management of innovation carriers, such as enterprise incubator, science park and science city, as well as TusHoldings’ global innovation service system, implement this project together with Tus Science and Technology Service Group and TusStar Incubator with special focus on core issues in construction and development of New South Wales Torch Park, such as feasibility study, overall development positioning, industrial development orientation and construction of innovation service system, and turn New South Wales Torch Park into a model of Sino-Australian cooperation in technological innovation and an important force in global technological innovation and talent cultivation.

New South Wales Torch Park is the first branch of the “Torch Program” (Hi-tech Industry Development Program) of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and the first overseas branch of the Torch Program, with a planned investment of AUD 100 million. On April 14, 2016, witnessed by Mr. Li Keqiang (premier of China) and Mr. Malcolm Turnbull (premier of Australia), Torch Center of the Ministry and UNSW Australia signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Joint Construction of Torch Innovation Park in Australia and initiated the project of UNSW Torch Innovation Park. This project will become a bran-new platform for the Sino-Australian cooperation in scientific and technological industry, and will become important driving force for Sydney to build a global innovation city and promote economic development and social progress through technological innovation. This is an important milestone of the cooperation between China and Australia.
