TusStar Settles in South America, Its International Deployment Takes A New StepPrint

On December 12, the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement between TusHoldings and the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro Science Park (PT-UFRJ) was held in the Embassy of Brazil in China, and Eltoh Santa Fe Zacarias, Vice Minister of the Brazilian Ministry of Science and Technology, Mr. Marcos Caramuru, Brazilian Ambassador to China, Mo Tan, Head of Department of International Cooperation of the Torch High Technology Industry Development Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, Prof. Luiz Pinguelli Rosa, Director of Relations of COPPE/UFRJ, Prof. Eduardo Serra, Pro-Rector of Undergraduate Studies of UFRJ and other members of the Brazilian National Science and Technology Delegation attended the signing ceremony. Herbert Chen, COO of TusHoldings and Dr. Leonardo de Melo, Institutional Development Coordinator of PT-UFRJ signed the agreement respectively on behalf of the two parties.

According to the agreement, TusHoldings will collaborate with PT-UFRJ in establishment of “TusStar – PT-UFRJ Science Park Center for Business, Technology and Innovation” in Rio de Janeiro and “PT-UFRJ Beijing Center for Technology and Innovation” in Beijing respectively. Through the two innovation centers, the two parties will actively facilitate and support the cross-border development of Chinese and Brazilian enterprises and promote the exchanges and cooperation between the two countries’ hi-tech enterprises.

On the morning of the same day, the delegation of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) visited TusHoldings and TusStar Incubator, and Herbert Chen, COO of TusHoldings introduced the development model and experience of TusHoldings and TusPark to the delegation. The delegation was very interested in the corporate structure and development model of TusHoldings, and expressed the hope that the successful experience of TusHoldings could be fully utilized for reference in the process of building the Brazilian innovative ecosystem.

The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) was formally established on July 07, 1920, but its higher education can trace back to the Royal Military Academy established in 1792 and the National Art School founded in 1820. In 1937, the university was once renamed as the University of Brazil. Since 1965, the university has been incorporated into the federal education system, and renamed as the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. The university has 49 faculties and more than 3,000 teachers.
