The POLIMI Delegation Led by President Ferruccio Resta Visits TusHoldingsPrint

On February 23, Yuan Wei, President of TusHoldings, hosted the reception of the Politecnico Di Milano (POLIMI) delegation led by Ferruccio Resta, President of POLIMI, on their visit to TusHoldings. Both parties made in-depth discussion on the implementation of related cooperation matters between Tsinghua University and POLIMI as well as pragmatic communication on topics that both parties care about such as transformation of technological achievements and innovative talent training. Meanwhile, the signing ceremony of strategic cooperation agreement between TusStar and PoliHub was held.

In the afternoon of February 22, an agreement in respect of the cooperation in establishing a Sino-Italian Design Innovation Base in Milan, Italy was signed by Qiu Yong, President of Tsinghua University, and Ferruccio Resta, President of Politecnico Di Milano, in the Great Hall of the People, as jointly witnessed by Xi Jinping, Chairman of China, and Sergio Mattarella, President of Italy. The visit to TusHoldings by President Ferruccio Resta with his delegation was to further implement and promote the cooperation between both universities and even both countries.

During the meeting, Yuan Wei expressed her warm welcome to the delegation led by Ferruccio Resta, and introduced detailedly TusHoldings’ development history, major achievements and “three-in-one” business pattern (“Science Parks, S & T Industry and S & T Finance”) formed through the great efforts made in the past 23 years by TusHoldings, a leading company for implementing the industrial strategy of Tsinghua University. Yuan also introduced detailedly the largest and most cutting-edge global innovation ecological network formed by TusHoldings. She indicated that TusHoldings would like to further undertake, implement and deepen the cooperation between both parties in the field of technological innovation as an advantageous platform-based enterprise through the friendly cooperation between China and Italy and the multi-field pragmatic cooperation & exchange between Tsinghua University and POLIMI.

Ferruccio Resta said that he was very satisfied with the cooperation between POLIMI and Tsinghua University and between POLIMI and TusHoldings. According to him, POLIMI was founded in 1863 as a well-known university in Italy and Europe advantaged in art and architecture, and the cooperation for establishing the Sino-Italian Design Innovation Base in Milan is significant for POLIMI’s development. He believed that TusHoldings accumulated very mature experience and model in the transformation of technological achievements and the innovative services, and that POLIMI would learn and seek assistance from TusHoldings during its future development .

Zhang Jinsheng, Vice President of TusHoldings and Chairman of TusStar, said in his speech on incubation cooperation that PoliHub and TusStar, as the important force for innovation and business incubation between China and Italy, might work together to promote the transformation of technological achievements, start-ups incubation and innovative talents training on the basis of scientific research cooperation between the two universities. Ferruccio Resta said that the cooperation between PoliHub and TusStar would greatly promote the transformation of POLIMI’s technological achievements and the development of its university-based industry.

The meeting was chaired by Herbert Chen, COO of TusHoldings. After the meeting, Zhang Jinsheng and Ferruccio Resta signed the strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of both sides. And they would further discuss the specific terms and conditions under the cooperation agreement on February 24 to determine the cooperation route and implement the cooperation project. Prior to the meeting, President Ferruccio Resta visited TusHoldings’ showroom, as well as the ecological environment of TusPark and TusStar Co-working Space, and highly praised the achievements of TusPark and TusHoldings .
