TusLink Finland-China Enterprises Innovation Cooperation Forum Held in Beijing to Jointly Build an International Innovation EcosystemPrint

On June 28, on the occasion of the visit of Mr. Sipila, Premier of Finland, to China, TusHoldings and FINPRO, together with more than 50 famous Finnish enterprises led by FINPRO, jointly held the “TusLink – Finland-China Enterprises Innovation Cooperation Forum”, aiming to build an international innovation ecosystem characterized by interaction of many star enterprises through TusLink. Jari Gustafsson, Vice Minister of Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment of Finland, and ZHANG Jinsheng, Vice President of TusHoldings and Chairman of TusStar, attended this forum and made speeches.

In his speech, ZHANG Jinsheng introduced the development history of TusHoldings and its flagship product TusPark. He expressed that, after more than 20 years of development, TusHoldings had gathered many excellent and leading enterprises in the fields of energy saving and environmental protection, new energy, new material, digital economy and health, and had formed a complete industrial ecosystem. Meanwhile, TusHoldings has built more than 200 innovation bases in the world to link innovative enterprises, capital and technology based on the “three-in-one” innovation layout integrating “science park, scientific & technological industries, and scientific & technological finance”, and to form an innovation ecosystem. TusHoldings expects to build Finland-China innovation and entrepreneurship platform together with Finnish government and enterprises in the future, and to serve the startup enterprises and entrepreneurs by virtue of “two parks, two incubators, and two funds”; it expects to learn the advanced experience of Finland in winter sports industry, to actively cooperate with Finland in such aspects as construction and operation of winter sports venues, cultivation of athletes and organization of winter sports games, and to jointly support the Winter Olympics 2022; it also expects to strengthen the cooperation with Finland in emerging strategic fields, to promote the transformation of research findings in China and Finland, to promote industrial innovation at the source, and to seek for greater application scenarios.

Jari Gustafsson expressed that Finland was one of the countries that established diplomatic relations with China in the first batch, and the cooperation between the two countries started in the 1950s; so far China has become the most important partner of Finland in Asia, and a cradle of global emerging high-tech companies. As the country with the highest proportion of innovation related revenues among the North European countries, Finland is leading in the world in clean technologies, information and communication technologies, and innovation level of education. There is a good entrepreneurship atmosphere in Finland, and the government is providing great supports for entrepreneurship. Jari Gustafsson expected to jointly develop innovation solutions together with leading Chinese enterprises such as TusHoldings, to jointly promote development of value added industries, and to jointly meet global opportunities and challenges. He said that “without continuous efforts, economic cooperation would not have enough depth and extension. The cooperation between Finland and TusHoldings always persists in promoting the realization of practical opportunities. We expect a broader cooperation between the two parties in the future.”

During the forum, CHEN Jin, a professor of Department of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Strategy, School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University, and Veli-Matti Mattila, Chairman of Confederation of Finnish Industries EK, gave keynote speeches respectively entitled “Towards an Innovative Country: the Road of China” and “How will Leading Finnish Enterprises Jointly Develop with Chinese Enterprises”, and talked about the bright future of the scientific and technological innovation and development in China and Finland. In addition, at the round table dialogue chaired by Marianne Vikkula, CEO of Slush, Risto Siilasmaa, Chairman of Nokia, Arto Mustikkaniemi, technology counselor of the Embassy of Finland in China, Tero Ylinenpää, Managing Director of Lappset Group, WEN Hui, Senior Vice President of TusHoldings and Chairman of Tus-Clean Energy Group, LIN Jian, International Cooperation Director of TusHoldings, and XIA Wenhuan, General Manager of International Technology Commercialization Department of China International Economic Cooperation and Investment Inc., discussed about “China and Finland Innovation and Cooperation” and shared the experience and challenges in the innovative cooperation between Chinese and Finnish governments and enterprises. 

On the same day, outstanding Finnish enterprises in such fields as digital information, biomedicine, clean technologies, winter sports and education made speeches at this forum, and revealed their development plans “for the next 100 years”. More than 50 Finnish enterprises had one-to-one exchanges with China enterprises after this meeting to deeply explore opportunities of cooperation between Chinese and Finnish enterprises.

It is learned that TusLink aims to strengthen enterprise exchanges, integrate enterprise resources, and build an international ecosystem for enterprise interactions. This forum is the first public appearance of TusLink series events, with participants mainly from Finland, Nepal, and Brazil.
