On October 26, “China-ASEAN Science & Technology Industry & Business Cooperation Forum and Inauguration Ceremony of China-ASEAN Science & Technology Industry Cooperation Committee” was held in TusPark Beijing. Themed on “exchange, mutual reference, cooperation and win-win”, leaders and experts engaged in the fields of government, business, university and research from China and ASEAN countries gathered together on the Forum, on which they had a dialogue and discussion on the topics related to the interconnection, interworking and integration development of sci-tech industry and economic, educational and other industries, and commonly witnessed the establishment of China-ASEAN Science & Technology Industry Cooperation Committee as well. 

Jialiang LUO, Singaporean Ambassador to China, Ningning XU, Executive Director of CABC (China-ASEAN Business Council), Jiwu WANG, Board Chairman of TusHoldings, Wei YUAN, President of TusHoldings, and some representatives from China and ASEAN countries made speeches respectively, and Vice Presidents of TusHoldings – Yao ZHENG, Dong ZHAO, Xiaowei CAI, Jinsheng ZHANG, etc. attended related activities. The inauguration ceremony was hosted by Herbert CHEN, COO of TusHoldings. 
 

Participants fully affirmed current development prospect of China and ASEAN, and introduced current situation, advantages and development direction of different countries. In his speech, Chairman Jiwu WANG indicated that, “the Belt and Road Initiative” started from ASEAN and valued on science and technology; and as the biggest sci-tech service group in China, related businesses of TusHoldings had already involved 45 B&R countries and it had strong sense of mission and good vision on the cooperation with ASEAN and wished to boost China-ASEAN industry upgrading upon both parties’ cooperation as well. Jialiang LUO, Singaporean Ambassador to China, said, next year would be the fifteenth year since China established strategic partnership with ASEAN, and ASEAN had a broad market prospect for China; besides, Singapore would serve as the rotating presidency of ASEAN the next year, and it would pay more attention to the innovation and cooperation and wished more interconnection and interworking with China. Then witnessed by all participants, representatives of ten ASEAN members launched a new journey of China-ASEAN Science & Technology Industry Cooperation with the representatives of TusHoldings. The Consensus on Enhancing China-ASEAN Science & Technology Industry Cooperation and Win-win signed by the representatives from ten ASEAN members and China was synchronously published on the Conference. 
 

According to this Consensus, China-ASEAN Science & Technology Industry Cooperation Committee is an unofficial and non-profit business cooperation organization between business circles, scientific research institutions and enterprises of China and ASEAN countries, and members of the Committee are mainly composed of the representatives of related sci-tech industry institutions and enterprises from China and ten ASEAN members. The 1st Chinese Chairman of the Committee is served by Jiwu WANG, Chairman of TusHoldings, and ASEAN’s Chairman is served by Mr. Kamaluddin, Chairman of Brunei National Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Chinese Executive Chairman & Secretary General is served by Dongming LI, Senior Vice President of TusHoldings & Chairman of Guangxi TusPark Science and Technology City Development Co., Ltd., Chinese Secretariat of the Committee is set at Nanning TusPark Innovation Science and Technology Investment Co., Ltd. in Guangxi, and the Secretariat will carry out daily work under the leadership of Chinese Chairman and Executive Chairman. The Committee will hold China-ASEAN Science & Technology Industry Cooperation Conference each year to discuss the connection and exchange between the sci-tech industries and enterprises of related parties, promote the cooperation of trade and investment projects and hold sci-tech exhibition, investigation, conference, survey and other related activities to create the chances of cooperation and win-win to the industries, such as science and technology, industry and commerce and education. Later, Executive Chairman Li Dongming introduced the work plan after the establishment of “China-ASEAN Science & Technology Industry Cooperation Committee”. 

On the China-ASEAN Science & Technology Industry Cooperation Forum, participants expressed their opinions on the topics about deepening transformation cooperation and development prospect of China-ASEAN technological innovation achievement, cultivation of China-ASEAN technological and innovative talents, etc. and discussed to seek for deepening China-ASEAN scientific and technological cooperation partnership and to realize win-win development in exchange and mutual reference. 
 

The Year of 2017 marks the 50th year since the establishment of ASEAN, and the strategic partnership between China and ASEAN is approaching the 15th year. China and ASEAN are seizing the opportunity to create strategic partnership of a higher level and build a closer community with a common future. In order to intensify the cooperation and exchange of sci-tech industry between China and ASEAN and to promote the pragmatic cooperation and development between representative organs and enterprises in the field of science and technology from China and ASEAN, CABC and TusHoldings cooperated to initiate establishing China-ASEAN Science & Technology Industry Cooperation Committee. 
 

On the Press Conference of China-ASEAN Science & Technology Industry Cooperation Committee convened on the same day, Executive Director Ningning XU and Chairman Dongming LI attended the Press Conference and answered the questions of 30 domestic and foreign media. Executive Director Xu Ningning said that, sci-tech industrial cooperation enjoyed a big potential, efficient promotion of sci-tech industrial cooperation of the Committee would apply the basic principle of “the Belt and Road Initiative” to realize common discussion, common construction and sharing. Implementation of the major cooperation proposal of the Committee not only correlates with the interconnection and industrial cooperation with related countries along the “Belt and Road Initiative”, but also will make contributions to the growth of entity economy and give it new vigor. Chairman Dongming LI indicated that, Guangxi is the only province that has both land access and sea access with ASEAN countries, such as Vietnam, Burma, Cambodia and others. China-ASEAN Science & Technology Industry Cooperation Committee and China-ASEAN Exhibition are held in Guangxi, and it's hoped that these platforms will gather sci-tech enterprises, scientific research institutions and university institutions from China and ten ASEAN countries to build a sci-tech, scientific research and talent exchange training base. 
 

China-ASEAN Science & Technology Industry Cooperation Committee will become a high-end dialogue platform for China-ASEAN science & technology industries, which will effectively promote the cooperation in sci-tech industry between China and ASEAN along “the Belt and Road Initiative” countries, share new thoughts and new opportunities and jointly build new economy of innovation industry. 

China-ASEAN Science & Technology Industry Cooperation Committee is located at an important physical space - “Nanning ASEAN TusCity”, which is used as a key construction project of People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Nanning Municipal Government with total construction physical space in an area of 700,000 square meters, and is a sci-tech innovative development & demonstration base and sci-tech & humanistic new city gathering industry-university-research achievement transformation, industry service and finance facing with ASEAN. It will become an innovation service and demonstration platform for connecting and serving the universities, scientific research institutions, sci-tech industry and sci-tech finance cooperation of China and ASEAN countries as well as talent cultivation and communication.
