TusStar Ann Arbor Incubation Base Holds an Opening Ceremony, Indicating an Important Step of TusHoldings’ Globalization StrategyPrint

On November 17, 2017 local time, TusStar Ann Arbor Incubation Base, located in Ann Arbor City, Michigan, held an opening ceremony. This incubation base is the first one operated and managed by TusStar alone in USA, and an important step of TusHoldings’ globalization strategy. MA Zhigang, Director of TusHoldings, Chairman of Tus International and Chairman of Tus Financial Control, SHEN Quanhong, Incubation Business Director of TusHoldings and General Manager of TusStar, and YANG Ming, Special Chairman Assistant of TusHoldings and Executive Director and COO of Tus International, attended the ceremony. 
 

MA Zhigang, Director of TusHoldings, Chairman of Tus International and Chairman of Tus Financial Control, is giving a speech.

In his speech, MA Zhigang expressed that TusStar Ann Arbor Incubation Base was a professional incubator in the field of automotive industry jointly built by Tus International and TusStar; Setting of innovation incubator and investment fund in University of Michigan by Tus International and TusStar had great strategic significance.different from other local investment institutions, TusStar Ann Arbor Incubation Base, coming from Beijing, was an ideal choice for US enterprises who wish to develop business with Chinese cooperations, and for Chinese enterprises located in USA. Mr. MA also introduced that TusHoldings had a whole-process financial investment system and full-coverage financial supporting system, and, with additional supports from the scientific research resources of Tsinghua University, the base could offer  better support and help for commercialization of research findings in the automotive field developed by entities represented by University of Michigan. “We hope to build a science park in Ann Arbor in the future to give a hand for more scientific researchers and enterprises.”
 
SHEN Quanhong, Incubation Business Director of TusHoldings and General Manager of TusStar, is giving a speech.

SHEN Quanhong reviewed the development history of TusStar. In the last 20 years, TusStar totally incubated and served more than 5,000 enterprises, of which 35 enterprises had successfully completed IPO and received investment return of more than USD 3 billion. “TusStar will be a firm and reliable partner of scientific and technological innovation enterprise all the time. TusStar Ann Arbor Incubation Base is an incubator with unique significance among the 108 incubators of TusStar, and will focus on ICV industry, artificial intelligence industry and smart mobility.” said SHEN Quanhong, The global development will place an emphasis on smart mobility in the future.. We wish that TusStar Ann Arbor Incubation Base could work with the first smart mobility incubator opened in Beijing a few days ago to jointly make a great contribution to the development of smart mobility.”
 
NI Zhi, COO of TusStar Ann Arbor Incubation Base, is giving a speech. 

At the beginning of the opening ceremony, NI Zhi, COO of TusStar Ann Arbor Incubation Base, thanked the audience for coming firstly. Then, he introduced how would the Base rely on and integrate itself into the innovation network of TusHoldings, and have positive effect on the local economic development and building of innovation ecosystem in Michigan by virtue of comprehensive scientific and technological services. He said that the Base would be devoted to serving the cross-border business development of Chinese and American enterprises, and would make efforts to strengthen the exchange and cooperation between Tsinghua University and University of Michigan in the field of automotive technology innovation.

After that, Nick, Deputy Research Director of University of Michigan, and Bryce, Director of Technology Transfer Office of the University, pointed out in their speeches that building of a cooperation relationship with TusStar Ann Arbor Incubation Base would have great influence on the whole region of Michigan, and the Base would bring significant opportunities for commercializing research findings of the University and for developing of scientific and technological innovation enterprises. 

At the site of the opening ceremony, TusStar, Tus International and University of Michigan signed agreements on establishment of Gap Fund, an industrialized preparation supporting fund. The associated arrangement will help to promote the commercialization of research findings of the University (particularly those of smart mobility research projects), and will accelerate the establishment of a globally leading and smart mobility focused innovation system to get breakthroughs in key technologies and to help Tus International continuously enhance its ability to provide unique smart mobility products and solutions. MA Zhigang declared on the site the two projects won Gap Funding, and awarded certifications to them.

Phil Santer, Senior Vice President of Ann Arbor SPARK, expressed in his speech that the establishment of TusStar Ann Arbor Incubation Base was of  great significance, and the two parties would have more cooperation and development opportunities in the future. As representatives of startup enterprises, Les Alexander, CEO of Inmatech, and Gerry Roston, CEO of Civonics, respectively introduced their companies and their future development directions. 

Brian Connors, the representative of the government of Michigan and Executive Director of Michigan China Innovation Center, ZHANG Huishi, Executive Director of TusPark Global Network (TGN), HAN Wei, Institute and University Cooperation Director of TusHoldings, Deputy General Manager of TusStar and General Manager of TusStar (Shanghai), representatives of local enterprisers, representatives of Detroit Chinese Chamber of Commerce, representatives of Tsinghua University Alumni Association of Michigan, representatives of Society of Automotive Engineers, and student representatives of University of Michigan attended the opening ceremony.
