On June 7, Shuvalov, the new Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs of Russia (VEB) led a delegation of senior executives to visit TusHoldings. Chairman Jiwu WANG received Chairman Shuvalov and his delegation and conducted in-depth exchanges with them.


Mr. Igor Ivanovich Shuvalov has been the first deputy prime minister of the Russian Federation since May 2008 and was appointed to replace Sergey Gorkov as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors of VEB on May 24 this year.

Chairman Shuvalov’s current visit to China was to accompany Russian President Putin to attend the 18th meeting of the Council of Heads of States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization held in Qingdao, Shandong from June 9th to 10th. During the tight schedule, Chairman Shuvalov made a special trip to TusHoldings to understand the business situation of TusHoldings – VEB’s key partner in the field of innovation in China, and discussed the next step of pragmatic cooperation with Chairman Jiwu WANG.

During the exchange, Chairman Shuvalov pointed out that China and Russia are comprehensive strategic cooperative partners. Russia actively supports and has become an important strategic partner for the “Belt and Road” Initiative advocated by Chinese President XI Jinping. The cooperation in scientific and technological innovation between the two countries is an area of great concern and support for the heads of the two countries. Russia is very willing to cooperate with TusHoldings in this field.

Chairman Jiwu WANG said that to support scientific and technological innovation and adhere to global development is the core strategy of TusHoldings. TusHoldings has been maintaining close contacts with Russia in the field of innovation for many years and has established cooperation in various directions.

The two parties held a pragmatic and constructive discussion. Chairman Jiwu WANG gave a positive response to the cooperation proposals of Chairman Shuvalov in the fields of precision medicine, renovation of old industrial bases, construction of science parks, venture capital funds, environmental protection projects, block chain technology, etc.

At the symposium, Ming YANG, General Manager of Tus-S&T Service Group, Chun MIAO, Deputy General Manager of Tus-S&T Service Group, Zhonghua ZHANG, General Manager of Tus-sound, and Jian LIU, head of the block chain business of 21ViaNet carried out detailed communication with Russia respectively with respect to their business segments.

Mr. Sergey Grykov, former Chairman of VEB, also expressed that although he would be transferred to the government department, as an old friend of Chairman Jiwu WANG, he strongly recognized the development philosophy of TusHoldings and would continue to give support and help with respect to TusHoldings’ cooperation with Russia.

Chairman Jiwu WANG expressed his gratitude for this and concluded that the cooperation with Russia was an important part of the “Belt and Road” Initiative advocated by President XI Jinping, TusHoldings’ cooperation with Russia was pragmatic and forward-looking, the heads of various business segments would actively promote the cooperation, and it was believed that with the joint efforts of both parties, the cooperation in various fields would soon yield fruitful results.
