On September 19, Digital Thailand Big Bang 2018 was opened in Bangkok, Thailand. During the event, opening ceremony of TusStar (Thailand · Bangkok), an innovation and incubation network platform jointly established by Thailand Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA) and TusHoldings, was held. Dr. Somkid, the First Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, Herbert CHEN, COO of TusHoldings, Dr. Pichet, Minister of Digital Economy and Society of Thailand, Mr. Teeraun Srihong, Chairman of DEPA, Dr. Nuttapon Nimmanphatchairin, Chairman of DEPA, Xueliang LIU, Deputy General Manager of TusStar, and other representatives of the Chinese and Thai parties attended the opening ceremony and jointly witnessed the launch of the project.

At the opening ceremony of Digital Thailand Big Bang 2018, Prayuth Chan-ocha, Prime Minister of Thailand, said that, “the precondition for judgment of the benefit of technology for life is proper understanding and use of the technology. Later, Thai government will further develop digital technology to improve people’s lives and build smart cities.”
On the same day, witnessed by Dr. Somkid, the First Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, TusStar (Thailand · Bangkok) was formally opened. This is the first cross-border incubator in Thailand and a new milestone in the cooperation between China and Thailand in building the “Eastern Economic Corridor”, indicating the longer-term relationship between China and Thailand built in promoting regional economic prosperity and supporting the growth and development of digital technology startups. TusStar (Thailand · Bangkok) will focus on building of incubation and innovation platforms in five major areas: firstly, to promote and incubate startups in the two countries and regional startups, and to enhance the technological level and commercial capabilities of the enterprises; secondly, to promote commercialization of research findings in Thailand; thirdly, to help entrepreneurs in China and Thailand to expand their international vision and develop innovative exchange programs between the two countries; fourthly, to help startups obtain more investment opportunities; fifthly, to gradually achieve the goal of jointly building up the economic ecosystem of startups in China and Thailand. In consideration of the local characteristics, TusStar (Thailand · Bangkok) will pay special attention to incubation of advanced digital technology companies, and will help the incubated enterprises to accelerate their development in the fields of big data analysis, artificial intelligence, and so on.

After the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Somkid invited the delegation of TusHoldings to a symposium. At the symposium, Mr. Somkid gave favorable comments on the methods and modes used by TusHoldings to build scientific and technological innovation ecosystem, and expressed his expectation for this cooperation. He pointed out that he expected planning by TusHoldings starting from the top framework of the cooperation, and he believed that TusHoldings and TusStar would be good partners of Thailand in building innovation ecosystem in Thailand.
Herbert CHEN, COO of TusHoldings, expressed in the symposium that, TusStar had early start, large scale and quick development in Southeast Asia; so far, it had made good milestone achievements in Malaysia, and this cooperation with Thailand was another try in this aspect. He pointed out that TusStar would innovate in the cooperation mode based on regional characteristics. This cooperation between China and Thailand seeks for steady progress. In the early stage, innovation and entrepreneurship atmosphere will be built up through entrepreneurship training output and other forms, and later the focus will be gradually transferred from incubator to science city so as to continuously deepen cooperation and expand the scales of cooperation projects. He wished that, during the cooperation between the two parties, TusStar (Thailand · Bangkok) would bring into play the effect of regional coordination and make contribution to the social and economic development of the two countries.

After the meeting of Chairman Jiwu WANG and Deputy Prime Minister Somkid on August 23, TusHoldings completed base investigation, contract signing and formal opening in less than a month, indicating the high efficiency of TusHoldings and the close attention it paid to this cooperation. In addition, this also reflects the close attention paid by the Thai government to the “Belt and Road, Driven by Scientific and Technological Innovation”, and its recognition of the brand and strength of TusHoldings.
It is learned that TusStar (Bangkok) will start business at the end of this year, and will be located in the premises of Thailand Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA). DEPA will further strengthen its cooperation with TusHoldings and TusStar, and the parties will build a greater and better incubation carrier in the Eastern Economic Corridor in future.
