The Delegation of TusHoldings is Invited to the “Future Investment Initiative” in Saudi ArabiaPrint

On October 23, 2018, the delegation of TusHoldings was invited to the second “Future Investment Initiative” held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.

The “Future Investment Initiative”, known as the “Davos in the Desert”, is an important part of the economic reform plan advocated by Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman. The Saudi sovereign wealth fund is the main sponsor of the Initiative. The Saudi government intends to attract foreign investments in various fields through the Initiative and reduce the dependence of its economy on oil revenue.


During the Initiative, MA Zhigang, Director of TusHoldings and Board Chairman of TUS International Limited, was invited to speak at the special meeting themed by “How do Business Leaders Make Preparations for the Basic Technological Reform when Facing Exponential Growth (Industrial Evolution)?” and conducted an on-site discussion with Yousef Al-Benyan, Vice President and CEO of Saudi Basic Industries Corporation, Klaus Kleinfeld, Crown Prince Consultant and Chairman & Director of the Founding Board of NEOM, Badr Al-Olama, Head of the Aerospace Business Unit at Mubadala Investment, and Lorenzo Simonelli, CEO of U.S. Baker Hughes, about the impact of artificial intelligence on the world and how corporate managers should face the challenges resulting from new technological changes.


On the afternoon of October 23, MA Zhigang, on behalf of TusHoldings, attended an entrepreneurial symposium with Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman and exchanged views with the Crown Prince on the existing achievements and future strategies of TusHoldings in the field of technological innovation. Mr. MA Zhigang welcomed His Royal Highness Crown Prince to visit TusHoldings at a convenient time.

During the Initiative, the delegation of TusHoldings, led by Board Chairman WANG Jiwu, also held a talk with the CEO of the Saudi Mubadala Investment and the head of the overseas fund of the UAE Mubadala Investment. The Mubadala Investment at the two countries expressed their appreciation for the achievements of TusHoldings in the field of technological innovation, and were willing to conduct further negotiations with TusHoldings on the cooperation in overseas projects.

Thousands of representatives from all over the world attended the three-day Initiative, during which Saudi Arabia signed 25 cooperation agreements with foreign investors, amounting to US$55 billion.
