TusStar (Bangkok, Thailand) to Open SoonPrint

Recently, TusStar and Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA) of Thailand officially signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in Bangkok, Thailand, aiming to continue to promote the establishment and development of TusStar (Bangkok, Thailand) and further enhance the exchanges between China and Thailand in the field of technological innovation.

ZHANG Jinsheng, Vice President of TusHoldings and Board Chairman of TusStar, and Dr. Nuttapon Nimmanphatchairin, Chairman and CEO of Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA) of Thailand, signed a memorandum of understanding on behalf of the two parties. Dr. Pichet Durongkaveroj, Minister of Digital Economy and Society of Thailand, witnessed the signing of the memorandum of understanding on cooperation. Mr. Chatchai Khunpitiluck, Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Digital Economy Promotion Agency of Thailand, Dr. Chinawut Chinaprayoon, Vice President of Digital Economy Promotion Agency of Thailand, SUI Jianfeng, General Manager of TusStar (Thailand), HUANG Zihua, General Manager of TusStar (Hong Kong), and representatives of more than 50 companies from China, Thailand, Malaysia and other countries witnessed the signing ceremony.

At the signing ceremony, the two representatives exchanged souvenirs.

The signing ceremony is a milestone in the ascertaining of the cooperation content after TusHoldings and DEPA unveiled Thailand’s first cross-border incubator - TusStar (Bangkok, Thailand) in September last year. Under the framework of this memorandum of understanding on cooperation, the two parties will gradually improve the cooperation rules for the joint establishment of the innovation incubation center.

Dr. Pichet Durongkaveroj, Minister of Digital Economy and Society of Thailand, gave welcoming remarks to TusStar and Chinese start-ups, and congratulated TusStar and DEPA on achieving strategic cooperation in the field of digital innovation incubation for the substantial development of China-Thailand technological innovation exchanges.

With reference to the content of the memorandum of understanding, DEPA Chairman Dr. Nuttapon said that DEPA and TusHoldings would work together to advance the development of the technological incubation center and promote the economic exchanges and development between China and Thailand with technological innovation as the carrier. In the end, he announced that TusStar (Bangkok, Thailand) was expected to open in April this year, looking forward to and welcoming the development of Chinese start-ups in Thailand.

In his speech, ZHANG Jinsheng said that the signing ceremony had brought China-Thailand cooperation to a higher level, with TusStar (Bangkok, Thailand) as the 127th global business incubator set up by TusStar, committed to globalizing the power of innovation, and Bangkok (Thailand) as the second network node laid out by TusStar in Southeast Asia for the implementation of the “One Belt, One Road” Initiative. As the trip to Thailand was warmly welcomed by Chinese and Malaysian start-ups and investors, he hoped that TusStar Bangkok Base would play a bridge role in the future and become the link of innovation and entrepreneurship exchanges between China and Thailand.

Subsequently, Supanaree Pooaong, an investment promotion specialist from the Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI), introduced Thailand’s preferential policies for foreign investment and entrepreneurship and Thailand’s current entrepreneurship ecology. Veerapat Tantayakom, Assistant Secretary General of the Investment Promotion Committee of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) established by the Thai government, shared the current industrial layout and investment promotion policies of the EEC.

TusStar Bangkok will focus on building the incubation and innovation platform in five major directions: firstly, incubate and cultivate China-Thailand and regional start-ups, and improve the technical level and commercial capabilities of enterprises; secondly, promote the transformation and implementation of Thai scientific and technological achievements; thirdly, help entrepreneurs in China and Thailand to expand their international vision and build innovative exchange programs between the two countries; fourthly, help start-ups obtain more investment opportunities; fifthly, gradually co-build the China-Thailand economic ecosystem for start-ups.
