Board Chairman WANG Jiwu Meets the President of the University of Manchester, UKPrint

On September 19, Board Chairman WANG Jiwu and the visiting delegation led by Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell, President of the University of Manchester, UK, held a talk on promoting the cooperation between the two sides. WANG Shugui, Chief Operating Officer of TusHoldings and Board Chairman of Tus-S&T Service Group, attended the meeting.
 


Dame Nancy Rothwell said frankly at the symposium, “We hope to build a tech town in Manchester to support innovative companies. We are looking for partners like TusHoldings.” According to Dame Nancy Rothwell, the University of Manchester has a Chinese research center and more than 20,000 alumni in China as a lot of contact with China, which will lay a solid foundation for the cooperation between the two parties. More importantly, the Faculty of Life Sciences at the University of Manchester is the largest specialized institution in Europe and thus a good partner to cooperate with in the future.

WANG Jiwu welcomed the delegation led by Dame Nancy Rothwell, and introduced TusHoldings’ cooperation with Polytechnic University of Milan and Moscow University as well as TusHoldings’ scientific and technological cooperation projects in Cambridge and Newcastle. Then he pointed out that TusHoldings would participate in the tech town project of University of Manchester in an innovative model to jointly build a technological achievement transformation system that integrates with TusHoldings’ global innovation network. As he said, TusHoldings has invested in both medical institutions and a number of medical technologies to establish a precise medical service system, so it can cooperate closely with the Faculty of Life Sciences of the University of Manchester. “There will be difficulties on the road to seeking cooperation. I think that as long as we have a high degree of consensus and a firm belief, we will be able to achieve our objective. I am very optimistic about the prospects for our cooperation.”


Before the meeting, Dame Nancy Rothwell and his delegation also visited TusHoldings Digital Showroom. Professor WANG Zhongdong, Vice Dean of International Affairs, Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences of the University of Manchester, Richard Cotton, Director of International Division, University of Manchester, YANG Di, Head of China Partnership, University of Manchester, YANG Ming, Senior Vice President of TusHoldings and President of Tus-S&T Service Group, and LIN Zhuocun, President of TusHoldings (UK), attended the meeting.
