Open the Border to Know Each Other - Board Chairman WANG Jiwu and His Entourage Visits South Korea and Delivered a Keynote Speech at Seoul National UniversityPrint

On January 8-9, at the invitation of Seoul National University of South Korea and the Gwanak District Government of Seoul, WANG Jiwu, Board Chairman of TusHoldings, together with his entourage, paid a two-day visit to South Korea, and had in-depth talks with Park Jun Hee, Head of Gwanak District Government, Seoul, Oh Se Jung, President of Seoul National University, Lee Soo Sung, Former Prime Minister of South Korea and Former President of Seoul National University, etc. The leaders of China and South Korea exchanged opinions and reached important consensus on the joint construction of China-Korea Two Parks in Two Cities and China-Korea Industry Investment Fund, in-depth industrial cooperation between TusHoldings and Seoul National University and other topics. During the period, at the invitation of President Oh Se Jung of Seoul National University, WANG Jiwu delivered a keynote speech at Seoul National University on the theme of “Triple Helix Model and International Collaborative Innovation”.


WANG Jiwu and his entourage arrived at Gwanak District, Seoul, South Korea at noon on January 8, and had an in-depth exchange with Park Jun Hee, Head of Gwanak District Government, Seoul, South Korea. According to Park Jun Hee, the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Gwanak District Government attach great importance to cooperation with TusHoldings, and the China-Korea Two-city Two-park Cooperation Agreement signed by Seoul National University and TusHoldings in 2019 will have a positive and far-reaching impact on the science, technology, economic, trade, cultural and innovation exchanges between the governments of South Korea and China. WANG Jiwu expressed his great anticipation for the in-depth cooperation with Gwanak District, Seoul, and pointed out that Park Jun Hee’s visit to TusHoldings in October 2019 had built a bridge of friendship between China and South Korea in science, technology, economic and trade cooperation in East Asia. He hopes that the two parties will work together to implement the park and fund projects as soon as possible. Han Jing Yuan, Policy Assistant, Kim Jin Tou, Planning and Economic Director, Secretary Xuan Xuan Zhe of Gwanak District, and other Korean leaders also participated in the talks.

On the afternoon of January 8, WANG Jiwu delivered a speech on the theme of “Triple Helix Model and International Collaborative Innovation” at Seoul National University. Based on TusHoldings’ more than 20 years of industrial incubation experience, he elaborated on three ways to transform emerging technologies into emerging industries: establishing a vertical incubation system in reliance on famous universities; making use of the triple helix for promotion; taking advantage of global open collaboration to achieve technological integration. WANG Jiwu explained the incubation model of TusHoldings’ “Triple Helix” and TusHoldings’ Belt and Road international cooperation model with vivid cases. According to him, the world today is a world of technological integration, so it is necessary to promote global technological cooperation, and countries should open their boarders to know each other and achieve common prosperity. TusHoldings attaches great importance to the technological cooperation with South Korea, and is very confident in the future cooperation between China and South Korea in science, technology and emerging industries. Vice President Roh Dong Rong and Vice President Hong Qi Hyun of Seoul National University attended the event and highly agreed with and thanked Chairman WANG Jiwu for his speech and views.

After the speech, President Oh Se Jung of Seoul National University, Vice President Roh Dong Rong in charge of research, Vice President Yu Zhen Xing in charge of planning, and Board Chairman WANG Jiwu had a working meal together and exchanged views. The two parties conducted frank and in-depth exchanges and reached important cooperation consensus on how TusHoldings and Seoul National University can further cooperate. The two parties will start cooperation from China-Korea two parks in two cities, China-Korea Science and Technology Investment Fund, Overall Health Project of Seoul National University, intelligent manufacturing and other industrial fields.

On the noon of January 9, WANG Jiwu and his entourage met Lee Soo Sung, Former Prime Minister of South Korea and Former President of Seoul National University, WANG Luxin, Minister Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in South Korea, Kim Yong Duk, President of the Korea-China Exchange Association, Roh Dong Rong, Vice President of Research at Seoul National University, Liu Jun Lie, President of Korea-China Technology Exchange Center, Xue Wen Zhi, Chairman of the Economic Exchange Committee of the Korea-China Exchange Association, and YANG Shaojie, Chinese Consul in South Korea, attended the talks. WANG Jiwu thanked Mr. Lee Soo Sung for his care and assistance given to TusHoldings, and pointed out that South Korea had its unique advantages in culture and technology, hoping that the two parties would deepen cooperation. Mr. Lee Soo Sung expressed his joy at the high-speed development of TusHoldings, and was full of confidence and expectations for the ongoing cooperation between TusHoldings and South Korea. According to him, technological cooperation represents the future of China and South Korea, and TusHoldings already has a world-leading technology innovation network in this regard. He emphasized his intention to contribute to the Chinese-Korean technological cooperation projects jointly established by the partners of TusHoldings and South Korea, and hoped that the friendship between China and South Korea would last forever.


After the visit, Former Prime Minister Lee Soo Sung and Counselor WANG Luxin personally saw off Board Chairman WANG Jiwu and his entourage.
