Tsinghua Innovation Forum Is Held in TusParkPrint

During the 100-year anniversary of Tsinghua University, the “Tsinghua Innovation Forum”, sponsored jointly by Tsinghua University and the Development Research Center of State Council, and organized by the TusPark Innovation Research Institute and TusPark, welcomed its grand opening on the afternoon of April 19, 2011 in TusPark. The forum was hosted by Mr. Chen Jining, Managing Vice President of Tsinghua University, with the theme of “Innovation—Dream and Mission”. Distinguished guests from government, universities and enterprises gave theme speech during the forum, including Mr. Hua Jianmin, Vice Chairman of National People's Congress and Dean of TusPark College of Innovation, Mr. Gu Binglin, member of Chinese Academy of Science and President of Tsinghua University, Mr. Xu Qin, Deputy Secretary of municipal CPC committee and mayor of Shenzhen, Mr. Ma Yun, Chairman of the Board of Director of Alibaba, and Mr. Li Kaifu, Chairman and CEO of Innovation Works.

Mr. Hua Jianmin, Vice Chairman of National People's Congress and Dean of TusPark Innovation Research Institute, made a micro speech on the roles and mission of various parties including government, companies, science and technology, culture, and education on promoting the transmission of growth mode of economy. He pointed out that the key to transmission of development mode and industrial restructuring in China was innovation. We shall drive the transmission of companies, as well as improve the productivity by innovation. It was only with innovation that we could form sustainable competitiveness and obtain the initiative in development.

Mr. Xu Qin, Deputy Secretary of Municipal CPC Committee and Mayor of Shenzhen made a speech on “Create ‘Shenzhen Quality’ by Innovation”. His speech was vividly delivered with introduction on the history of Shenzhen, case study on creating an environment for innovative entrepreneurship, as well as explanation on the necessarily of government’s involvement in creating an innovative atmosphere and driving the innovation in companies.

Leading characters of Chinese entrepreneurs including Mr. Ma Yun, Chairman of the Board of Director of Alibaba, and Mr. Li Kaifu, Chairman and CEO of Innovation Works, told the stories of the growth of their companies, and expressed their views on how to promote the ability of innovation in the company.

The discussion session was hosted by Mr. Mei Meng, Director of TusPark Development Center and Chairman of TusPark Co., Ltd. Six distinguished guests presented a feast of wisdoms including Mr. Chen Qingtai, member to the Standing Committee of the 10th and 11th CPPCC National Committee, Deputy Director of the Economic Committee, and the former Director of the Development Research Center of the State Council, Mr. Qian Yingyi, the Dean of College of Economics and Management of Tsinghua University, Mr. Xu Hang, Chairman of Mindray, Mr. Yi Weidong, Chairman of Sinovac Biotech Ltd., Mr. Li Shizhu, Deputy Secretary of CPC Committee and Deputy Director of Zhongguancun Science Park Committee, and Mr. Zhou Xuerong, First Deputy Mayor of Kunshan city Jiangsu Province. They carried out hot discussion on “innovation” from various aspects and answered questions raised online.

This forum attracted the presence of around 400 people from fields including government, universities, parks, enterprises, finance and media. In-depth discussions were held on topics including key questions raised during the building-up of an innovative country, innovation on new areas, innovation in universities, and innovation in companies, exploring the route and direction for innovation-driven development.

TusPark College of Entrepreneurship


TusPark College of Entrepreneurship was founded with the co-effort from TusPark Innovation Research Institute and TusPark. A Guiding Committee consists of celebrities including government officials, entrepreneurs and scholars for TusPark College of Entrepreneurship, with a faculty comprising scholars from home and abroad with strong theoretical background on entrepreneurship training, and entrepreneurs with rich practical entrepreneurial experiences.

To foster top-notch chiefs for enterprises and leading enterprises, the college has designed 4 modules of programs catering to the various needs of enterprises and entrepreneurs at different stages, including “advanced-level, medium-level, and entry-level” and vocational training. The advanced-level module features for enterprises with a turnover of 100 million yuan, and profit around 1 million yuan; the medium-level module features for enterprises with a turnover of over 10 million yuan, and profit over 10 million yuan; the entry-level module is a mandatory course for students studying in Tsinghua University who wants to be an entrepreneur. The vocational training courses are mainly about the management of the science park including the concept of park management and its way of operation, for local government, and managers of hi-tech regions and development regions.


Introduction on Zhongguancun 100 Entrepreneurs Club


Zhongguancun 100 Entrepreneurs Club was suggested and organized by the Zhongguancun Advisory Committee. It was initiated by around 100 entrepreneurs at their free will to boost the growth of entrepreneurs by integrating the wisdoms of scholars, entrepreneurs, and investors. With foster 100 outstanding entrepreneurs with global vision, strategic thinking, and innovative spirit as its mission, the Club shares the growing experience of successful entrepreneurs in Zhongguancun to build itself into a resource bank for growing enterprises, and an incubator for brand enterprises and entrepreneurs with advantageous resources.


Innovative Enterprises in China, Case Study of Innovative Cities Worldwide


Innovative Enterprises in China is the research result of the “the innovation way for enterprises” program organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology and executed by TusPark Innovation Research Institute. The book carried out research on the commonality and individuality of 400 state-level innovative companies and summarized a common “innovation way” based on the research, so as to help all types of companies to re-think on their own way of development. 


Transmission—Case Study of Innovative Cities Worldwide has chosen 16 cities from 9 innovative countries for its study, focusing on the industrial upgrading, experiences from transmission, and crucial policies and action plans. The book has summarized the experience of the building of innovative cities in other countries to help cities in China to develop their own way into innovation.
