(The following text is compiled according to the video)
Dear President Paul, Vice Chairman Chen Hongbo, Chief Executive Officer Ms. Ebba Lund, distinguished friends from all over the world,
Welcome to 37th IASP World Congress!
To start with my speech, I would like to express my congratulations on the successful opening of the meeting.
It is known that the year of 2020 is an extraordinary year as the epidemic of COVID-19 has caused great shock and trouble to people all over the world. The epidemic of COVID-19 is a milestone that affects and changes the future of the world. In this process, science parks around the world have obtained their own new roles and embraced new challenges. We have the grand meeting here, hoping that the topic can become an important topic in our exchange exploring solutions for world community of science parks to world's new epidemic situations and problems after the epidemic. When the epidemic got rampant in China, TUSHOLDINGS cooperated with Tsinghua Science Park as well as nearly 300 science parks and incubators in China, made full use of the strength of science and technology and devoted itself into the front line of anti-epidemic via scientific innovation and integration. I am honored to introduce to you that none of the 150,000 employees of TUSHOLDINGS, including more than 3,000 employees in Wuhan and Hubei, has been infected during the period. There is no case of infection in the incubators of science parks in China. There is no case of infection and suspected infection in the incubators of science parks in Cambridge, Moscow, Milan, Thailand, Malaysia and the United States. It just reflects that as scientific innovation has taken place for a long time in the science parks and a great many scientific elements gathered, we have solved the problem of anti-epidemic in scientific spirit and methods. It embodies the role and power of science and technology in us, which is also the case and inspiration provided by our science parks for fighting against and preventing from epidemic. Therefore, I personally think that through the epidemic, especially the experience of various science parks at home and abroad, we found that the science park is likened to Noah’s ark that can resist the impact, as science parks have gathered a lot of scientific achievements and teams. We make full use of these scientific achievements and teams to serve the society and become the vanguard of anti-epidemic service for the people of all countries in the world. The epidemic situation is a new opportunity and challenge for our science parks. Meanwhile, we shall also realize that in the post epidemic world, including global normalized anti-epidemic environment, the worldwide network of science parks is a unique collective and power. IASP has been committed to promoting collaboration of science parks around the world. Under the guidance of IASP, TUSHOLDINGS and China's community of science parks are willing to work with peers from all over the world to make use of the collective and collaborative advantages of China’s science parks, to play the role of China’s science parks in jointly fighting against the epidemic and continuously fueling economic development of countries around the world in normalization of anti-epidemic. Therefore, science parks, especially the network of science parks around the world, will certainly become an key engine for normalization of anti-epidemic and restart of world economy after the epidemic. The science park is not only Noah's ark, but also the engine of emerging industries. Let us seek consensus in the great meeting, unite our strength and make our contribution to people of the world.
To conclude, wish the conference a complete success. Wish all the delegates here good health and all the best!
Thank you!
