TusHoldings Initiates the Establishment of “RCEP Alliance of Science and Technology Parks ” As RCEP International Industry Cooperation Summit 2022 Takes PlacePrint

On June 15, RCEP International Industry Cooperation Summit hosted by TusHoldings Northeast Asia Headquarters and Qingdao Trade Development Service Center was held in Qingdao. More than 200 delegates attended the conference online and offline, including those from RCEP Industry Cooperation Committee, government agencies of RCEP member states, International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP), China International Chamber of Commerce Sustainable Development Committee, international trade and investment promotion agencies and business associations, experts and scholars in the economic and trade field, as well as executives of tech-driven enterprises. Focusing on the matching and cooperation of technology and innovation industries of RCEP member states, the participants discussed new opportunities for development and explored mutually beneficial win-win measures at the summit. On the scene of the meeting, the Alliance of RCEP Science and Technology Parkinitiated and established by the TusHoldings Northeast Asia Headquarters was officially launched, which will further enrich the RCEP industrial ecosystem and help build a regional collaborative community for innovation.

At the meeting, Chen Rui, Deputy Director of National Communication Center for Science and Technology under China Association for Science and Technology, Yu Hao, Deputy Director of Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Shi Zhiguang, Envoy of Malaysian Embassy in China, Zhang Jinsheng, Executive President of TusHoldings, President of TusHoldings Northeast Asia Headquarters and Chairman of TusStar delivered a speech respectively. Mr. Zhang said that, with the implementation of RCEP, TusHoldings will take Qingdao as a pivot to focus on promoting the economic and trade cooperation in science and technology with Japan, South Korea, Russia and ASEAN countries. Relying on its global innovation network, vertical incubation system and the practices in driving international scientific and technological cooperation innovation ecosystem, all parties concerned, TusHoldings will help build Qingdao into a high-tech innovation highland in Northeast Asia.

Xu Ningning, Chairman of RCEP Industrial Cooperation Committee, Hebert CHEN, Senior Executive Vice President of TusHoldings and President of the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP) delivers a speech, Ren Fei, Secretary General of the Sustainable Development Committee of China Chamber of International Commerce, together with the representatives of international trade and investment promotion agencies and chambers of commerce/associations, economic and trade experts and scholars, executives of technology-driven enterprises, and people from all walks of life, focused on the prospects of RCEP industrial cooperation, the elements for international scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation and study cases, the current situation and opportunities of Sino-foreign scientific and technological cooperation and exchanges, and looked into how contemporary science and technology innovation enterprises reshape their the industrial chain, supply chain, and value chain under the RCEP rules from both macro and micro perspectives, so as to take regional science and innovation collaboration to a higher level. “After RCEP agreement was reached, the international scientific and technological cooperation and exchanges among the member states have developed in a more and more in-depth way.” said Mr. Hebert CHEN. He  believed that international scientific and technological cooperation and exchanges are an important cornerstone of global social and economic development. Through the accumulation of information, integration, professionalism and other elements, all entities involved can accelerate their integration into the global scientific and technological innovation network and build a vibrant community for scientific and technological innovation.

The establishment of the RCEP Countries Science and Technology Park Alliance aims to expand the RCEP industrial ecosystem and help create a regional collaborative community for scientific and technological innovation. Under the guidance of the National Communication Center for Science and Technology, China Association for Science and Technology and Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Commerce, the alliance is initiated and established jointly by TusHoldings Northeast Asia Headquarters in conjunction with Qingdao National University Science and Technology Park, Qingdao Biotechnology Innovation Park, Korea Innopolis, Malaysian National Science and Technology Park, Tus Park WHA (Thailand) and other internationally renowned science and technology parks and institutions. After the establishment, the alliance will be based in Qingdao, cover Shandong Province, and radiate throughout the RCEP region. The relevant measures will be taken to effectively promote the construction of the industrial ecosystem of the science and technology parks in RCEP countries and achieve high-level regional exchanges and cooperation.

The summit also invited industry representatives as guests at the roundtable dialogue to conduct in-depth discussions on topics such as the technology and security of cross-border data flow and the creation and improvement of entrepreneurial ecosystem in Qingdao. In the following agenda happening on the 16th and 17th this month, the summit was to hold industry sub-forums featuring retail digitization, agricultural digitization and industrial digitization. Industry insiders from relevant institutions in RCEP member countries such as Singapore Institute of International Affairs,  National Science and Technology Park of Malaysia, Japanese Aichi Prefecture Bureau of Economics and Industry, and Australia-China Chamber of Commerce would perform keynote sharing online. Representatives of 12 technology innovation enterprises and outstanding venture capital institutions at home and abroad from well-known cross-border e-commerce platforms, agricultural technology, intelligent robots, new energy technology and other fields gathered together to discuss how to use institutional innovation to implement collaborative innovation in the technology industry by riding on the opportunity of RCEP.

This summit was the first large-scale event for scientific and technological industry cooperation held in Qingdao after the RCEP agreement was signed. With the generous support by Qingdao Science and Technology Association, the event was hosted by National Communication Center for Science and Technology, RCEP Industry Cooperation Committee, International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation Areas (IASP), Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Commerce, and undertaken by Shandong Business Hub, Tus Star (Qingdao), Tus Star (Malaysia), Tus Star ( Singapore), Tus Park WHA (Thailand), and Tus-China-Japan Cross-border Innovation Platform.
