Recently, the third annual event of ASEAN University Network - University Innovation Enterprise was successfully held. Prof. Kaywalee Chatdarong, Vice Dean of the School of Research and Innovation of Chulalongkorn University, Prof. Sun Sun Lim, of the School of Communication and Technology and Vice President of Singapore Management University, Assoc Prof. Steven White of the School of Economics and Management of Tsinghua University and Co-founder of Tsinghua University X-lab, Chen Hongbo, IASP President and Senior Executive Vice President of TusHoldings, and Dr ElIza Mohamedou from Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and Mr. Kjell-Håkan Närfelt from Swedish company and other experts and scholars gathered online to conduct in-depth dialogue around “the role of universities in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in 2022 and the future development direction”.
In his speech, Mr. Chen Hongbo first expressed his heartfelt thanks for the invitation, and made a speech under the theme of The Role of Higher Education in Fostering Innovation and Entrepreneurial Development, discussed with the guests the common problems faced in this regard and shared TusHoldings’ practical experience in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship.
In particular, Mr. Chen Hongbo shared relevant cases and views around TusHoldings’ successful practice in promoting the integration of curriculum construction and innovation and entrepreneurship education, integrating resources to improve the construction of practice platform and playing a leading role in innovation and entrepreneurship demonstration. He believes that, in the era of highly developed social economy and technology, higher education is of great importance as the most indispensable source of wisdom for talent training and national development. The traditional education model featuring simple book teaching has become increasingly unable to meet the needs of current social development. Therefore, it is of great significance to explore the integrated development of dynamic adjustment of innovation and entrepreneurship education and discipline education in universities.
In brief, openness, exchange and cooperation are unchanging topics. The deep integration of innovation and entrepreneurship education and higher education needs to be promoted from multiple dimensions to build a cultivation system of creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship, and form an innovation and entrepreneurship education model that is characterized by industry-university-research interactions and integration of disciplines.
