On October 13, TusPark welcomed a high-level delegation from Kean University, led by President Lamont O. Repollet and Wang Beijiao, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Wenzhou-Kean University. Against the autumn backdrop of Beijing, TusHoldings and Kean University reached comprehensive consensus on practical cooperation in key projects within the field of industry-academia-research collaboration.
That afternoon, Wang Jiwu, Chairman of TusHoldings, personally received President Lamont O. Repollet, Secretary Wang Beijiao, and their delegation, expressing his sincere welcome to the guests who had traveled from afar. At the beginning of the meeting, he extended his congratulations on the 18th anniversary of the partnership between Kean University and Wenzhou University, as well as the 10th anniversary of Wenzhou-Kean University. He also commended the remarkable achievements made by Wenzhou-Kean University over the past decade.
During the in-depth discussions that followed, Chairman Wang Jiwu elaborated on three key directions for future collaboration between TusHoldings and Wenzhou-Kean University: cooperation in the fields of science parks and incubators, in-depth collaboration in youth entrepreneurship and emerging academic disciplines, and comprehensive access to TusHoldings’ global innovation network for Kean University. He expressed TusHoldings’ willingness to leverage its partnerships with over 200 universities worldwide to offer Kean University a diverse menu of cooperative models. Additionally, he looked forward to deepening collaboration with Kean University in emerging industrial disciplines and schools, jointly promoting the prosperity and development of education in both China and the United States.
President Lamont O. Repollet expressed sincere gratitude and anticipation for the warm reception and collaborative vision extended by TusHoldings. He mentioned that both Wenzhou-Kean University and Kean University in the U.S. felt deeply honored to receive China's President Xi Jinping’s response, noting that it was not only an honor but also a significant responsibility. President Repollet emphasized that they are actively expanding their network of cooperation and exchanges, and this engagement with TusHoldings is a crucial part of that strategy. He highly endorsed the collaborative directions proposed by Chairman Wang Jiwu and looked forward to in-depth cooperation in areas such as community service, scientific research innovation, and talent development. President Repollet specifically invited the TusHoldings team to participate in the construction and operation of the Wenzhou-Kean University Science Park and suggested establishing long-term interactions with the incubator at Kean University in the U.S.
Senior Vice President of Planning at Kean University, Phyllis Vázquez; Executive director, board of trustees at Kean University, Audrey Kelly; and Wang Beijiao, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Wenzhou-Kean University, also shared their perspectives on their respective areas of interest for collaboration. They unanimously noted that Wenzhou-Kean University is in a phase of rapid development and eagerly anticipates collaborating with TusHoldings on the construction of science parks, innovation in curriculum systems, and the global innovation network to jointly drive the university’s growth.
On behalf of TusHoldings, Xu Ting and Shen Quanhong, responsible for Zhejiang TusHoldings and Tus Southern Headquarters respectively, outlined specific implementation plans. Xu Ting, Senior Vice President of TusHoldings and Chairman of Zhejiang Tus Group, reflected on the challenging journey of establishing Wenzhou-Kean University from scratch and its growth into a strong institution. He expressed hope that TusHoldings’ comprehensive involvement would create new incremental value. Shen Quanhong, Vice President of TusHoldings, Party Committee Member, and Executive President of Tus Southern Group, was invited to introduce the innovation and entrepreneurship courses he teaches at Tsinghua University and expressed readiness to integrate them into the Wenzhou-Kean University system. Liu Quanyou, Senior Vice President of TusHoldings and Chairman of Tus Education Group, detailed several successful cases of TusHoldings’ innovations in emerging industry education models. He stated that TusHoldings is willing to share its successful experiences in vocational education and the establishment of innovative colleges with Wenzhou-Kean University to jointly promote the prosperity of educational development.
At the conclusion of the event, leaders from both sides assigned dedicated responsible persons and liaison representatives for the implementation of specific collaborative matters. They agreed to achieve phased results within the year. Chairman Wang Jiwu stated that TusHoldings would actively participate in the construction and collaboration with Kean University, expressing hope that both sides would work hand in hand to write a new chapter in China-U.S. educational cooperation.
This visit not only deepened the friendship and mutual trust between TusHoldings and Wenzhou-Kean University but also laid a solid foundation for future collaboration. As the partnership continues to deepen, it is believed that it will inject new vitality and momentum into China-U.S. educational cooperation and global educational innovation.
