Strategic Partnership Agreement Signed between TusPark and Taiyuan Hi-tech Industry Development ZonePrint

On March 13, the grand ceremony for the signature of the “TusPark and Taiyuan Hi-tech Industry Development Zone Strategic Partnership Framework Agreement” was held in the Electronic Harbor of Taiyuan Hi-tech Zone. Personnel attended the ceremony included Mr. Zhang Zheng, the Deputy Mayor of Taiyuan city Shanxi Province, Mr. Xu Jinghong, Assistant to the President of Tsinghua University and CEO of TusPark Co., Ltd., Mr. Zhao Weidong, Director of the Management Committee of Taiyuan Hi-tech Zone, Mr. Wang Maojian, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the Hi-tech Zone, Mr. Qin Jun, Deputy CEO of TusPark Co., Ltd., Mr. Zhang Jinsheng, CEO assistant of TusPark Co., Ltd., Mr. Huang Yifeng, Deputy Director of TusPark Incubator, and Mr. Dong Jun, Deputy President of Tsinghua Alumni Association Shanxi Office.


After the signature of the framework agreement for the strategic partnership, the two parties will start in-depth cooperation on TusPark (Taiyuan), investment system of the hi-tech zone, TIMS system, and the integration and promotion of resources, so as to further speed up the building of an environment for scientific and technological innovation and entrepreneurship, transformation of scientific and technological results, and the upgrading of industrial structure.


Before the ceremony for the signature, Mr. Lian Yimin, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal CPC Committee and the Acting Mayor, had a meeting with the delegation led by Mr. Xu Jinghong, Assistant to the President of Tsinghua University and CEO of TusPark Co., Ltd.


Background Information:


Taiyuan Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone was built in July, 1991. It was then approved by the State Council to become a state-level hi-tech zone in November, 1992. The park was divided into two areas: newly-built area and policy area, with the former takes up an area of 8sq.km. Taiyuan hi-tech zone boasts the advantages of intensive scientific talents and strong scientific research abilities with many universities including Shanxi University, and research institutes including Shanxi Institute of Coal Chemistry, CAS, and China Institute for Radiation Protection as its neighbors. After more than one decade of development, the service facilities in the zone have been improved, providing complete supporting services to the companies based inside. The hi-tech zone is now leading the development of other regions in Taiyuan, and has become an important site for development of hi-tech industries in Shanxi. Around 2,200 companies have chosen the hi-tech as their base, including 486 recognized hi-tech companies, representing 70% of the hi-tech companies in Shanxi province. Inside the zone, there are 24 incubators and science parks, taking up an area of 900,000sqm. A lot of companies with strong independent innovation abilities are emerging in the zone. A hi-tech industrial structure has been formed with Electronic Equipment and Information Park, New Material Park, and E-manufacturing Park, and with electronic harbor as the media and the integration of electronic information and mechatronics, new material and new energy, biomedical and energy-saving as the representative industries. Taiyuan Hi-tech Zone adheres to the principle of opening up to the world, with cooperation and contacts already set up with 15 countries and regions in the world. It has attracted 177 students who have studied abroad with its State-level Entrepreneurship Park for Personnel came back from abroad, Entrepreneurship Site for young Chinese students coming back from abroad, and the International Cooperation Site for Small and Medium Companies, setting up 94 companies. Taiyuan Hi-tech Zone has also received top central government officials including Mr. Hu Jintao, Mr. Jia Qinglin, Mr. Zeng, and Qinghong.
