Delegation from Cambodia’s Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation Visits TusHoldings to Discuss Sci-Tech Innovation Ecosystem CooperationPrint

On July 2, a delegation from the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation (MISTI) of Cambodia visited TusHoldings. The two sides held in-depth discussions covering industry-university-research collaboration models, commercialisation of scientific and technological achievements, innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, talent cultivation and digital skills development. Wang Jiwu, Chairman of TusHoldings, Yang Ming, Vice President, and Wang Fei, Deputy General Manager of TusStar, attended the meeting.

H.E. Dr. Nhim Khemara, Permanent Secretary of State, MISTI, stated during the talks that the Cambodian government regards the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as a national strategy. The visit aims to learn from TusHoldings’ successful experience in startup incubation and technology services. He noted that Cambodia is in the early stage of modern national development with an immature sci-tech innovation system. The country urgently needs to establish physical platforms such as incubators and science parks to integrate financing, talent, policy and other innovation elements into a complete service ecosystem. He stressed that Cambodia must accelerate its development to keep pace with regional growth, and hopes to establish cooperative ties through this visit to lay a foundation for sustained technical collaboration.

H.E. Mrs. Ren Kaimala Luosha,Director‑General, General Department of Small and Medium‑sized Enterprises and Handicrafts, MISTI,outlined the delegation’s itinerary in China. She said the visit is not only to seek solutions for specific projects, but also to identify a clear roadmap for SME growth within Cambodia’s national development framework. She hopes to gain an in-depth understanding of how the government, market entities and enterprises coordinate within China’s innovation ecosystem, and bring relevant experience back to Cambodia to advance the development of domestic incubation systems.

Chairman Wang Jiwu extended a warm welcome to the delegation and introduced TusHoldings’ global innovation network and technology service system. In response to Cambodia’s demands, he put forward multiple cooperation proposals. First, both sides shall sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) as soon as possible and set up a regular working-level liaison mechanism. Second, leveraging the “Two Countries, Two Parks” model of TusHoldings, promote industrial cooperation between enterprises based in Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan and Cambodia to share sci-tech resources. Third, jointly host global sci-tech innovation competitions to support the upgrading of Cambodia’s industrial packaging and raise product added value; TusHoldings can mobilise its affiliated British marketing company and ecosystem resources to provide support. Fourth, carry out cooperation in clean water supply and digital skills training. TusHoldings has established mature operations across Southeast Asia and relevant Chinese provinces, enabling direct alignment with Cambodia’s requirements.

H.E. Dr. Nhim Khemara fully endorsed Chairman Wang’s proposals. He pointed out that MISTI oversees key sectors including industrial development, sci-tech innovation, quality standards and clean water supply, which are highly aligned with TusHoldings’ business scope. He invited the TusHoldings team to conduct field visits in Cambodia and revealed that the relevant minister of Cambodia plans to visit China in December this year to further deepen consensus and push forward the implementation of concrete projects.

Established in 2020 by Royal Decree, MISTI was restructured and upgraded from the former Ministry of Industry and Handicrafts.
